A Private Therapy Intensive in Maine
for Women Entering Life After Active Motherhood
Everything Looks Fine. So Why Does Something Feel Off?
You’ve spent years focused on others — your children, your family, your responsibilities.
And now, something is shifting.
Maybe your child just left for college.
Maybe they’re about to leave.
Maybe they’re technically still home — but they don’t need you in the same way
Of course things feel different with this “empty nest"ish phase. But you didn’t expect this particular mix of emotions.
It’s like you're unsure of your identity in this season of life.
A private, immersive therapy intensive in Maine maybe be just the thing you need. For women ready to reconnect with themselves and move into what’s next with clarity and confidence.
It’s not just about feeling sad and missing them. It’s…
Relief… and then guilt for feeling relieved.
Frustration that they aren’t more independent, haven’t “launched”. Then guilt while also feeling worried and confused.
A sense of loss you didn’t expect
More freedom… and a quiet anxiety about what to do with it
You might think:
“I should be enjoying this more.”
“Other people seem fine — why do I feel off?”
Why wouldn’t things feel a little off?
For years, your life had a clear structure even if it often felt chaotic.
You were needed. There were always schedules to manage, meals to prepare, carpools, school projects, emotional support.
Your role was clear. You held it all together.
Now, without that constant pull, something becomes visible:
You haven’t had much space to focus on yourself. Now that you do with less clear structure, and defined roles, things feel out of alignment.
Frankly, you feel a bit lost.
It shows up everyday in little ways:
Y
ou walk past your child’s room and feel a quiet drop in your chest
You go to text them — and stop, wondering if you should give them space?
You find yourself reorganizing, cleaning, or staying busy just to avoid the feeling of “now what?”
Your relationships feel different
You and your partner are alone more — and the dynamic feels unfamiliar, underlying tensions are harder to ignore
Things have not unfolded as expected.
You want to help your child but you resent them.
Your friendships change as your kids head in different directions.
You don’t know how you are supposed to do this mid-life, “empty nest” thing.
Internally, things feel different
With more space, you notice:
A desire for something more — but no clear direction
Questions about purpose, identity, and fulfillment
Thoughts about choices made along the way
A sense you set parts of yourself aside
You might find yourself wondering:
Did I prioritize the right things?
What do I want now — not ten years ago?
What would feel meaningful at this stage of my life?
There are subtle regrets (that don’t have a place to go)
These thoughts don’t always feel dramatic. But they linger:
Parenting:I gave so much… but did I also lose parts of myself?
Relationships:Did I fully express myself… or keep things smooth?
Career:Did I follow what truly mattered to me — or what made sense at the time?
Yourself:What did I postpone… and is it too late to return to it?
These aren’t problems to fix.
They’re signals that something within you is ready for attention.
Sometimes these reflections are about life transitions.
And sometimes they point to experiences that are still quietly shaping how you feel about yourself.
If that resonates, you may be drawn to a more focused, in-depth approach, The Clear the Fog Intensive
Why It’s Hard To Get Clear…
At home, in your daily environment, its the same inputs and same mental loops.
You’ve spent years oriented outward.
Now your system has to reorient inward — and that takes more than thinking and insight.
It takes reconnecting with yourself, processing and clearing what has been, shifting patterns, and embodying a new way of being. And that takes time and space.
Why an Intensive?
An intensive creates something most women don’t have access to in daily life:
Focused, uninterrupted space to actually figure this out.
Instead of trying to piece things together in small moments, you step into:
Dedicated time for reflection and clarity
Guided exploration of what you want now
Support in reconnecting with your own voice and preferences
A structured, embodied process for defining your next chapter
It’s about coming back to yourself — clearly and intentionally.
For some women, this phase is about clarity and direction.
For others, it begins to reveal deeper patterns or experiences that haven’t been fully processed. If that feels true for you, you can explore the:

A Therapy Intensive is an accelerated form of therapy designed to help clients go deeper and get results faster. Instead of attending therapy one hour per week for a year, why not carve out a weekend or a week for Therapy Intensives? It’s a cutting-edge approach to help people feel better faster. No need for a weekly therapy appointment.
In fact, many people think of Therapy Intensives like a retreat. For that weekend or week you can unplug, take time off work, get a babysitter, or even stay in a hotel. This time is completely dedicated to you so you can focus on healing, reflecting, and reconnecting.
-
Different intensives incorporate different therapeutic approaches. An EMDR/Brainspotting is a therapy intensive that centers Brainspotting and/or EMDR the primary modalities used. While I weave other approaches into my work with clients, I have found that using EMDR and Brainspotting to be powerful.
This is especially true when people wish to process past trauma or painful experiences. EMDR and Brainspotting can really accentuate and turbocharge a therapy intensive for their depth and they are able to tap into and leverage the healing capacity already inside of you.
I draw on my 20+ years of expertise to tailor the therapy intensive to you, your goals, and needs.

Great question! This depends on your goals for the Therapy Intensive. Some goals can be reached in a 1 Day Intensive (3 hours), but other goals are more complex and may require a 3 Day Intensive.
We will discuss this your consultation and intake call. I can help you determine the number of days that would work best for your therapy goals.
-
Absolutely! Therapy Intensives work very well as an adjunct therapy. I would ask that you sign a Release of Information so that your current therapist and I can collaborate/coordinate to best serve you.

Therapy Intensives are not covered by insurance. However, if you have out-of-network benefits, your insurance company may reimburse a portion of the Therapy Intensive. It’s best to call the customer service number on the back of your insurance card to learn the details about your specific plan. Make sure to ask questions like: Do I have a deductible for out-of-network services? Have I met my deductible? What CPT billing codes do you reimburse (i.e. 90837 or two 90843 in one day)? What is the rate of reimbursement for each billing code? What is the allowable amount for reimbursement?
Here is a helpful resource: The Complete Guide to Out-Of-Network Reimbursement.

A 50% non-refundable deposit is due at the time you book your Therapy Intensive. The remaining 50% is due on the first day of the Intensive Session.
