Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP)

Georgia, Maine, New York & Florida

Listening Therapy

  • Science of Safety

SSP is grounded in Polyvagal Theory which focuses on what is happening in the body and the nervous system. It explains how our sense of safety, danger or life-threat can impact our behavior.

The Safe and Sounds Protocol (SSP) is a physiological, “bottom-up” therapy, to help improve how we feel, think and connect with others.

  • Enhance Resilience

SSP a non-invasive acoustic vagal nerve stimulator helping to retune the nervous system to better support connection, collaboration, and resilience.

Designed to reduce sound sensitivity, improve auditory processing, and behavioral state regulation. Activates the client’s social engagement system.

  • Simple & Practical

The SSP is a 5-hour program that involves listening to specially filtered music through headphones in my office or remotely, in the comfort of your home. Packages offered with varying levels of support and investment.

SSP has demonstrated benefits for individuals with trauma, anxiety, sensory processing differences and more.

What is the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP)?

The Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP), developed by Stephen Porges the “father” of Polyvagal Theory, is an evidence-based listening therapy designed to reduce sound sensitivities and improve auditory processing, behavioral state regulation, and social engagement behaviors through filtered music. As a practical application of Polyvagal Theory, the SSP acts as a non-invasive,vagal nerve stimulator, helping to retune the nervous system to better connection, collaboration and resilience.

The SSP involves listening to specially filtered music through headphones alongside a provider in person or remotely. Suitable for children and adults, SSP has demonstrated benefits for individuals with trauma, anxiety, sensory processing differences and more.
